Bullets Squeeze By New Orleans, 2-1
|
The Baltimore Bullets had to weather a strong performance from New Orleans pitcher Victor Howell before claiming a 2-1 win in 10 innings. Howell went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Baltimore is now 49-47.
The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the tenth when Tommy O'Farrell hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Paul Harris to win the game for Baltimore. The home crowd went wild.
"We did just enough to win," O'Farrell said.
