Blue Dragons Lose By a Run at Monroeville, 5-4
|
The Monroeville Yinzers ushered in the 2055 season with a win versus the Levittown Blue Dragons at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. The final score was 5-4. Starting Pitcher Lester Creed, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2055 draft, had a standout performance. Monroeville reliever Edgar Bartolini picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Toshiki Matsushita was saddled with the loss.
Had Jeff Burton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Burton hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Yinzers.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Creed.
