Good production from left fielder Mike Fowler helped the Grim Reapers topple the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, 5-0. Fowler went 3 for 4 with 3 singles for the Reapers. Grim goes to 2-1.
Santiago Rodríguez dealt the Liberty U-24 a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Grim leading 1-0, Rodríguez hit a 1-2 curveball for a run-scoring single.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Grim manager Arnold Magowan. "It's usually not just one thing."
