The Myrtle Beach Seahawks downed the Columbia River Rats, 9-1, at Seahwaks Stadium. Stellar pitching by Al Krause had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Krause yielded 1 run over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 6, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. The Seahawks, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.

Myrtle Beach got a big at-bat from Ormond Beach, Florida native Rick Henshaw-Jacobs, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Seahawks ahead, 6-0.
