William Chávez imposed his will on the Hobeaus from the get-go. Relying mainly on his curveball, the right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 Columbia triumph. Tommy Woods picked up his 2nd save of the season. The River Rats, now 4-0, have stormed out of the gates.

Mike Wheeler hit a solo home run off Elton Brown in the bottom of the fourth, which put the River Rats ahead, 1-0. In addition to the homer, Wheeler had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.

"It feels good to get this one," Wheeler told the Columbia Daily.
