Grim wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Emílio Sosa, falling to the Monroeville Yinzers, 3-2. Sosa threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The win belonged to Byron Purglove in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jeff MacFadden took the loss for Grim. Grim drops to 2-3.

Had Bruce King not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, King hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Yinzers.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Grim manager Arnold Magowan said, following the tough loss.
