Grim Sent Home with 3-1 Loss
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Pontiac Godfathers and the Grim Reapers, pitcher Arthur Tidwell was the difference between victory and defeat. The Pontiac left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Godfathers win. In 5.1 innings, Tidwell surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Carlos Ramos earned the save for Pontiac, his 3rd of the year.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Godfathers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fifth, when catcher Hadde Wapperom hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Osman Hoti and made the score 2-1, Godfathers. Wapperom went 1 for 4.
"Arthur is a gamer," said Pontiac manager John Moss.
The win takes Pontiac to 4-2.
