Pipers Ballpark featured a tense pitchers' duel.

In a tight game between the Caldwell Chiefs and the Put-In-Bay Commodores, pitcher Ron Harris was terrific on the mound. The Caldwell right-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. Nick Brandt recorded his 1st save for Caldwell.

Amikishi Saginov was vital to the Caldwell win. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the first with two out, Saginov hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Chiefs.

"We were in it," said Put-In-Bay manager José Trejo. "We just didn't score enough runs."

With the win, Caldwell improves its record to 4-2.
