Francisco Aguilar, who is rated as the 5th best prospect by BNN, had a strong outing for the Yucca Valley Yellows against the Monroeville Yinzers at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Aguilar, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Daniel Valdés earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.
In the top of the first, John Edmiston jumped on a slider from Gary Fleming and hit a run-scoring single. It gave Yucca Valley a quick 1-0 lead.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Aguilar.
Monroeville falls to 2-4.
