The Yucca Valley Yellows picked up a win at Ballpark of Yucca Valley, knocking off the Caldwell Chiefs, 4-2. Starting pitcher Pedro Andrade played a key role in the triumph. Reliever Daniel Valdés picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Luis Rea took the loss. Pancho Lizalda, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Jeremy Couch came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Caldwell pitcher Ronnie Palmer, he hit a 2-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Yucca Valley on top, 3-2.

Said losing manager Jorge Agramunt: "Give the Yellows credit. They played a better game than we did."

The win gives Yucca Valley a record of 1-6.
