The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus beat the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 4-2, at Smokies Stadium. Smoky Mountain center fielder Larry Rothrock led the way. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Smoky Mountain goes to 7-2 with the win.

The Hobeaus got an important contribution from first baseman Gilberto Rodríguez, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a 2-2 slider to left-center for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Hobeaus ahead, 4-2.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Rodríguez.
