The Huntington Hermit Crabs earned a close win over the Yucca Valley Yellows, thanks in part to Ronnie Wamboldt. The Huntington left-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Derek MacIntosh collected save number 3. Yucca Valley, with the loss, is still a hardy 7-3.

Don Kirby had a direct impact on the outcome. Kirby contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Huntington up, 3-1.

"The other side played a good game," said Yucca Valley manager Ernest Orr. "You tip your cap to them."
