Yucca Valley pitcher Tony Icaza had a large part in his team subduing the Holy City Herons, 4-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Dan Gibbs earned the save, his 4th, for the Yellows. With the win, Yucca Valley is 5-5.

Eric Martin dealt the Herons a blow in the bottom of the eighth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Yucca Valley leading 2-1, Martin hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Icaza after the game.
