Yinzers Earn 6-1 Home Win
|
The Monroeville Yinzers beat the Grim Reapers, 6-1. Monroeville pitcher and Sunnyvale, California, native Doug Kellar led the way. Kellar, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The loss has the Reapers at 3-7.
Monroeville first baseman Bruce King contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Yinzers ahead, 3-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Kellar.
