Liberty U-24 Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Walleye Tank.
The Philadelphia Liberty U-24 earned a close win over the Walla Walla Walleye, thanks in part to Bob McCormick. The Philadelphia right-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The win went to Chad May in relief, making him now 1-0. Wilbert McCabe took the loss for Walla Walla.
William Dobson had a direct impact on the outcome. Dobson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Philadelphia up, 3-2.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said McCormick, "and then get after it again."
With the win, Philadelphia improves its record to 7-4.
