River Rats Take Down Liberty U-24, 2-1
Pitcher Jeffery Taylor was sensational for the Columbia River Rats in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Liberty U-24. Taylor earned the win. The winner was Taylor. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Franklin Vaughn. Picking up his 2nd save was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Neil Smith.

Ledvik Plichtov made an early impact for Columbia when he stroked his 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which came with two out in the bottom of the third, put the River Rats on top, 2-0.

"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Taylor.

The Liberty U-24 fall to 4-8 and continue to sputter in the early going.
