The Grim Reapers trumped the Columbia River Rats, 6-5, at Columbia Stadium. Grim center fielder Cullen Thompson was terrific. He went 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Grim reliever António Cabrera was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Charlie Leslie took the loss. The Reapers, now 9-3, have been sizzling early on.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jim Giles? The Grim shortstop had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Reapers on top, 6-4. For the game, Giles had 1 double and 3 singles in 5 at-bats.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Grim manager Arnold Magowan.
