Yucca Valley right-hander Mark Chandler helped his team edge Holy City by the score of 2-1. Chandler kept the opposing lineup in check. The win moves Yucca Valley to a record of 6-6.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Rob Allen wanted to seize the moment and deliver a clutch hit. Holy City pitcher Ralph Fryfogle had other ideas. He wanted to end the Yucca Valley rally. What happened next? With one out, Allen hit a sacrifice fly -- and the Yellows erupted in celebration.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Holy City manager Ralph Horn. "We just didn't cash in."
