Caterpillars Tag Liberty U-24 with 5-1 Loss
The Grand Forks Caterpillars topped the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, 5-1, in USSL Single A action at Liberty Youth Field. The standout performance belonged to Grand Forks pitcher and Maracaibo, Venezuela, native Santiago García. García yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-2. Philadelphia now has a record of 4-9.

Grand Forks used a clutch hit from Bernardete Espero to snatch the win. The catcher belted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Caterpillars ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Philadelphia manager Dan Fletcher.
