The Pontiac Godfathers spoiled a good performance by Yucca Valley left fielder Jing-xiang Shen, bumping off Yucca Valley, 6-4, at Pontiac Copperdome. Shen was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Carlos Ramos earned the save, his 5th, for the Godfathers. With the win, Pontiac boosts its record to 7-6.

Henry Jans cracked a home run off Luis Mojica in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run blast put the Godfathers on top, 6-4. In all, Jans had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"I was seeing the ball well tonight," said Jans.
