The Monroeville Yinzers claimed a close win over the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, due in large part to John Dodson. The Monroeville right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. In 7.1 innings, Dodson surrendered 11 hits, while striking out 12 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was Brad Pratly, his 4th.

Chipping in for Monroeville was shortstop Dae-sung Pak. He stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Pak was 1-1 with a walk.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Dodson said.

For the Hobeaus, the loss makes them 5-9.
