Win Goes to River Rats in Tight Contest
|
The Columbia River Rats faced a tenacious opponent in Grim pitcher Osman Hoti, but still scratched out a win at The Coffin by a final score of 6-3 in 10 innings. Hoti went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Neil Smith, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The loss puts Grim at 4-10.
Columbia used the hitting of Manny Feliciano to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the River Rats on top, 4-3. For the game, Feliciano had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Feliciano told the Columbia Daily.
