Columbia beat Levittown at The Cave at Levittown, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to left fielder Tim King. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs. Columbia reliever Luis Villarreal got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Ángel García was tagged with the loss. Columbia is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Wayne Harris was at the plate when Columbia scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the River Rats to go in front, 5-4.
"They played a better game than we did," said Levittown skipper Nees Bogermans.
