Holy City Makes It 6 Straight with 3-1 Win
|
The Holy City Herons had to overcome a fine effort from Lake Erie pitcher Rick Walton to win, 3-1, at Mango Yard. Walton went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Holy City reliever Koukalaka Ala was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Cecil Miller. Holy City, at 12-3, is off to a blistering start.
Dewitt Kennedy played the role of hero for Holy City. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a 2-run home run off Cecil Miller to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"Exhilarating win," said Kennedy.
