Seahawks Rally Late to Clip Grand Forks
|
Vitale Piantini never let Grand Forks get something going. The Myrtle Beach right-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Seahawks to a 2-1 win. Adam Hill, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. Myrtle Beach is off to a hot start at 11-5.
Batting in the bottom of the tenth, 22-year old center fielder Matt Petty had a real shot to win the game. Grand Forks pitcher Michael Green was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Petty hit a run-scoring single. The Seahawks had a walk-off triumph.
Petty called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
