The Belleville Bulls wasted an inspired, 6.1-inning effort from starter Wilbert Irwin, falling 2-1 to the Delmarva Gallos at Belleville Field. The winner was Delmarva reliever Otis Mullen, now 1-2. The loser was Akihito Ishikawa. The Gallos have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 5th win in 16 games.

Delmarva used a timely hit from Alonso Acosta to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Gallos ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

Acosta called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
