Arryns Suffer 2-1 Home Defeat
|
The Grim Reapers went home winners at Arryns Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Matthew Hamm. Hamm stifled the Lake Erie Arryns, enabling Grim to grab the 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Hamm, now 2-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Rafael Balita earned the save for Grim, his 6th.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Víctor Nava? The Grim third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Reapers on top, 2-0. For the game, Nava had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Lake Erie manager José Vélez.
The setback makes the Arryns 6-10.
