Yucca Valley right-hander Tony Icaza helped his team edge Walla Walla by the score of 2-1. Icaza kept the opposing lineup in check. Yucca Valley reliever Pancho Lizalda picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Taki Ohayashi was tagged with the loss. Walla Walla, with the loss, is still a hardy 12-5.

Martin Daniels played the role of hero for Yucca Valley. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a solo home run off Taki Ohayashi to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"This wasn't a good win," said Daniels. "It was a great win."
