Yellows Take Nail-Biter Over Hobeaus
Jaime Montaño was instrumental in his team's 7-6, extra-inning triumph over the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus. The catcher was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Yucca Valley Yellows. The win belonged to Dermot Bibby in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Brandon Martin took the loss for Smoky Mountain. With the win, Yucca Valley climbs to 12-6.

When he batted in the bottom of the 12th, Martin Daniels had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. Smoky Mountain pitcher Gordon Taylor was determined not to let him. But with one out, Daniels hit a sacrifice fly -- and the Yellows had a suspense-filled triumph.
