Columbia River Rats starter William Chávez turned in a top-notch performance against the Grand Forks Caterpillars at Columbia Stadium. The result was a win for the River Rats, 5-0. Reliever Neil Smith picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Len Horton took the loss. The loss drops Grand Forks to 10-9.

In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Grand Forks allowed the River Rats to go up, 1-0, on a Grand Forks error.
