Herons Win, 5-1, at Philadelphia
|
A good performance from catcher Tyler Taylor helped the Holy City Herons defeat the Philadelphia Liberty U-24, 5-1. Taylor went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Herons. Pete Johnson picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 2 in 5.2 innings. Kun Ec earned the save, his 6th, for the Herons.
Taylor had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Gabriel Soto, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Herons a 4-1 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Taylor.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Taylor.
With the win, Holy City boosts its record to 10-9.
