The Grand Forks Caterpillars defeated the Yucca Valley Yellows by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Julián Bernard. Bernard was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Caterpillars on the day. Denie Vogelsang earned the save for Grand Forks, his 5th. The loss makes Yucca Valley 7-12.

With Grand Forks trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Bernard hit a fastball from Chris von Kotze for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Caterpillars ahead, 4-2.
