Yucca Valley starter Francisco García pitched well against the Grand Forks Caterpillars at The Cocoon. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Pancho Lizalda, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. The defeat makes Grand Forks 9-10.
Yucca Valley took a 3-2 lead on Raúl Rojas's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Rojas hit in the top of the tenth, left Grand Forks pitcher Luther Jackson visibly frustrated.
Yucca Valley manager Ernest Orr commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
