Hobeaus Rally to Win
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus took Huntington pitcher Patches Magickbeans's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Shell. The final score had Smoky Mountain getting past the Hermit Crabs, 3-2. Magickbeans went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 9. Smoky Mountain reliever Gordon Taylor snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Derek MacIntosh shouldered the loss. The Hobeaus are now 10-10.

Smoky Mountain used the timely hitting of John Hines to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hobeaus on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Said Hines: "It's just one win, but it feels like more when you outlast a tough opponent."
