The Delmarva Gallos defeated the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 3-2, in 10 innings in USSL Single A action at The Cage. Delmarva pitcher Dawson Bishop had a standout performance. Chris Johnston was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was David Thornton. The Delmarva win streak is now 3 games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Delmarva catcher Brian Hayes, facing David Thornton, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Gallos the 3-2 win.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Félix Martínez.
