The Caldwell Chiefs took on the Washington Generals at Pipers Ballpark.

Caldwell starter Wallace Hicks clamped down on the Washington offense, while his team sailed to victory, 13-2. Caldwell has an impressive 15-5 record.

Shane Wood had a big 3-run home run for the Chiefs in the bottom of the second inning. With Caldwell trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Raph Liberato and swatted a home run to right. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chiefs ahead, 3-1.

Washington manager Nathan Horton called the blowout loss "nothing to write home about."
