The Yucca Valley Yellows could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Curt Pollock into a win. Instead, the Grim Reapers prevailed, 5-3. Pollock threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The victory makes Grim 7-13.

The game came to a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Grim trailing 3-1, Allen Hale delivered the big blow, hitting a fastball from Ralph Dougherty for a grand slam home run. Just like that, the Reapers had a walk-off win.

Hale described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
