Fuentes Shines in 9-3 Philadelphia Win
The Philadelphia Liberty U-24 pinned a convincing loss on the Monroeville Yinzers, 9-3, at Liberty Youth Field. Greg Fuentes was a main factor in the win. He went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for Philadelphia. Chad May was the winner. He's now 3-1. The loser was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Doug Kellar. The third-place Yinzers dropped to 11-10.

Philadelphia got a lift in the bottom of the fourth from shortstop Jim Alexander, who hit a fastball to left for a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Liberty U-24 up, 1-0.

Philadelphia manager Dan Fletcher was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
