Gallos Take Down Bush Pilots, 4-3

The Delmarva Gallos did just enough to sneak past the Alaskan Bush Pilots, 4-3, at Bush Pilots Park. Delmarva pitcher Steve Allen, in particular, had a standout performance. Carlos Hana was credited with the save for Delmarva, his 7th of the season. With the win over Alaskan, the Gallos improved to 13-8.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Gerald Cooper came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Alaskan pitcher Sergio Delgado, he hit a 1-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Delmarva on top, 4-3.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Allen. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
