Holy City Dismisses Put-In-Bay, 2-1
|
The Holy City Herons went home winners at Put-In-Bay Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Larry Freeland. Freeland stifled the Put-In-Bay Commodores, enabling Holy City to grab the 2-1 win. Picking up the save was Kun Ec, his 7th. Holy City is 8th in the Silver A with a record of 11-14.
Holy City needed the clutch hitting of Víctor Ríos to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Herons on top, 2-1. For the game, Ríos had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Freeland called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
