Yinzers Absorb 9-3 Home Loss
|
Behind a fine performance from Tim Moore, the Huntington Hermit Crabs knocked off the Monroeville Yinzers, 9-3. Moore went 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Hermit Crabs. The winning pitcher was Jeff Bean. He tossed 92 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. By defeating Monroeville, the 7th-place Hermit Crabs improved to 13-15.
Huntington used the hitting of James Reed to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hermit Crabs on top, 4-0. For the game, Reed had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
