Chicago Tula starter Gerald Huff kept the Myrtle Beach Seahawks hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-0 win. Huff, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Phil Chamings earned the save for Chicago, his 1st of the year.
The Tula had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 6-0, Chicago, with one out. Myrtle Beach, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. John Hunter dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch fastball, he hit into a double play.
Chicago, at 17-12, holds down 4th place in the Silver A.
