The Pontiac Godfathers easily defeated the Yucca Valley Yellows, 15-4, at Ballpark of Yucca Valley, with designated hitter Eric Riedy a main contributor to the win. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 5 for Pontiac. José Sandoval earned the win for Pontiac. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. Pontiac is now 13-16, Yucca Valley 16-13.

The Godfathers got a big hit from third baseman Henry Jans. Facing Yucca Valley pitcher Armando Ramírez in the top of the seventh, Jans pounded a bases-clearing triple to right-center. His 1st triple of the season put the Godfathers ahead, 14-2.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Jans told the Pontiac Citizen. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
