Herons Drop 6-2 Decision to Hobeaus
|
Starting pitcher Bubba Orr fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus stymie the Holy City Herons, 6-2. Orr, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Smoky Mountain is now 16-14. Holy City is 17-13.
Jacob Webb had a big 3-run home run for the Hobeaus in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Smoky Mountain trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Atiencia and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Hobeaus on top, 4-2.
"Bubba gave us everything he had," said Smoky Mountain manager Gianni Martin.
