In 10, Put-In-Bay Sinks Washington, 2-1
|
The Washington Generals wasted an impressive 7.1-inning effort from starter Ray Mullen, falling, 2-1, to the Put-In-Bay Commodores in 10 innings at Washington Park. Chong-chun Park notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. Ray Duncan closed out the game, earning his 10th save.
Put-In-Bay used the timely hitting of Lou Pennington to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Commodores on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Put-In-Bay field general José Trejo.
This loss makes it 7 in a row for Washington.
