The Holy City Herons topped the Columbia River Rats, 4-3, in 11 innings at Columbia Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Holy City pitcher Georges Combes. The victory gives Holy City a record of 20-14.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bob Rogers? The 20-year old left fielder Rogers stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Holy City up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Holy City manager Ralph Horn.
