Delmarva second baseman Artie White played a vital role in his team's 5-4 conquest of Alameda. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Delmarva. Bob Merendino was the winner. He's now 3-0. The loser was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jeffrey Lawson. William Collins collected his 3rd save.
Delmarva used a clutch at-bat from Rich Flores to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Gallos ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Feels good to get the job done," White said after the game.
The winning streak has now reached 7 games for the Gallos.
