Liberty U-24 Lose as Godfathers Stage Late Rally
|
The performance of Matt Nance proved critical in helping Pontiac beat Philadelphia, 9-6, in 10 innings. The Godfathers center fielder was 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Carlos Ramos was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Pete Gross. The defeat makes Philadelphia 15-20.
The most important at-bat for Pontiac came in the top of the tenth inning, when first baseman Richard Farley stroked a 2-2 fastball to center for a run-scoring single, putting Pontiac up, 6-5.
