Toivola Leads Grand Forks to 3-0 Win
|
Grand Forks pitcher Auno Toivola had a large part in his team beating the Yucca Valley Yellows, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The 8th-place Caterpillars go to 16-19.
It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Toivola, who tallied 4 strikeouts in 7.2 innings and allowed only 2 hits. Toivola raised his record to 3-3 on the year with 28 strikeouts.
"I have a really good team behind me," Toivola said. "I trust them 100 percent."
