Yellows, Fernández Deal Caterpillars 3-2 Setback
Starting pitcher Richard Fernández gave the Yucca Valley Yellows a rock-solid effort. The Lee's Summit, Missouri native helped his team defeat the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 3-2, at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. Ralph Dougherty closed the door for Yucca Valley, picking up his 6th save of the year. The win puts the Yellows at 19-17, while the Caterpillars drop to 16-20.

Fernández, the winner, is now 2-2, after putting the clamps on the Grand Forks offense. In 7 innings of work, he gave up no runs on 3 hits, while collecting 8 Ks.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Fernández.
