Late Offense Lifts Holy City to 7-3 Victory
Holy City took on Washington in front of a lively crowd.

The Holy City Herons picked up a win at Washington Park, knocking off the Washington Generals, 7-3. On the mound for Holy City was right-hander Larry Freeland. He played a key role in the triumph. The last-place Generals have lost 5 consecutive games.

Holy City used the timely hitting of Víctor Ríos to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Herons on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Larry gave us a heck of an effort," said Holy City manager Gilberto Chávez.
