Hobeaus 4-3 Victors Over River Rats
|
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus picked up a win at Smokies Stadium, knocking off the Columbia River Rats, 4-3. Starting pitcher Gijsbert Arents played a key role in the triumph. Arents picked up the win for Smoky Mountain, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Smoky Mountain is now 18-20, Columbia 23-15.
In the bottom of the sixth, Smoky Mountain third baseman Jesús López put his team on top. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit his 3rd home run of the year. Columbia pitcher Luis Villarreal served it up. Just like that, the Hobeaus were ahead, 3-1.
