In a tightly-contested game between the Pontiac Godfathers and the Grim Reapers, pitcher Clemens Schlöndorff was outstanding. The Pontiac right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the SA with a 8.9 K/9 rate, propelled his team's 2-1 win. Carlos Ramos was credited with the save for Pontiac, his 10th of the season. The Godfathers improved their record to 19-19 with the win over Grim.

Pontiac took the lead, 2-0, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, left fielder Lou Wyatt hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"Tough loss," said Grim manager Arnold Magowan. "This one will sting for a while."
