River Rats Beat Seahawks, 6-0
|
Myrtle Beach had no answer for Columbia River Rats hurler Lúcio Patino, who overwhelmed Seahawks hitters as the River Rats coasted to victory, 6-0. The winner was Patino. He threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Devin Hancock. Adam Vinck earned the save for Columbia, his 1st.
Doug Malone, who is tied for 10th in the SA in triples with 1, chipped in a grand slam home run for Columbia in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"We didn't play well enough to win," said Myrtle Beach skipper Clay Myers.
