Columbia Loses Again, 4-2
|
Smoky Mountain parlayed a decent outing from starter Bob Bradley into a solid win over the Columbia River Rats. The final score was 4-2. Bradley picked up the win for Smoky Mountain, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 5-1. Gordon Taylor earned the save for Smoky Mountain, his 3rd.
In the bottom of the 6th, second baseman Bob Lawrence gave Smoky Mountain the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Hobeaus had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Columbia pitcher William Chávez changed that -- and Smoky Mountain went on to win.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Columbia skipper Bayram Tanaoglu.
The win puts the Hobeaus at 19-20, while the River Rats drop to 23-16.
