Smoky Mountain Hobeaus pitcher Bubba Orr was in top form, leading his team past the Yucca Valley Yellows, 2-0. Smoky Mountain has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
Esteban Cruz had a big run-scoring double for the Hobeaus in the bottom of the second inning. With Smoky Mountain leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Curt Pollock, who is tied for 7th in the SA with a 2.24 ERA, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hobeaus ahead, 2-0.
"Runs were at a premium," said Smoky Mountain manager Gianni Martin.
